Ugh. My bracket, like most others, had holes in it. But in my private group on Yahoo! Sports, I stand in 3rd going into the Sweet 16. I also have a Second Chance bracket there, just in case.

The most surprising result is that one of the First Four teams, VCU, is now cruising into its spot in the Sweet 16. One number 1 seed has gone home, and that is Pitt.

Unfortunately, as time goes on, my favorite teams are sent packing for their home campuses. First, I rooted for Princeton but Kentucky made a shot in the final seconds to advance (they’re still in the Sweet 16); Michigan was next and came close to beating Duke but Duke held on to advance. Now my third (and hopefully the last) team that I will cheer for in the Dance is Ohio State.

My most hated teams when it comes to NCAA men’s basketball:

1. Duke
2. North Carolina (Chapel Hill)
3. Kansas
4. Arizona
5. UConn

All of these programs are consistent when it comes to basketball success but the time has come to programs following their lead and I hope those programs should win the Dance (e.g. Florida, Ohio State, Butler, San Diego State).
